In the previous lesson, you have learnt the new name given to each harokah<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, any name found having Dommah<\/strong> (single) or Dommataan<\/strong> (double) on its last letter is said have collected rof’u<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Examples of names that collect rof’u<\/strong> (dommah) can be found in the diagram below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Al-faa’il<\/strong> (\u0627\u0644\u0641\u0627\u0639\u0644) means, the subject<\/strong>: A subject is termed as the performer<\/em> of an action in a sentence. The doer<\/strong> of an action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Al-mof’uulu<\/strong> bihi<\/strong> (\u0627\u0644\u0645\u0641\u0639\u0648\u0644 \u0628\u0647) means, the object<\/strong>: An object is termed as the receiver<\/em> of an action in a sentence. The sufferer<\/strong> of an action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do we recognize a subject and the object in a sentence ??<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Basically, for beginners, whenever a name collects rof’u<\/strong>, we refer to it as the subject that performs an action in the verb found in a sentence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And, when a name collects nasbu<\/strong>, we refer to it as the object that receive an action being performed by a subject in a sentence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Usage Examples<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If I say:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0636\u064e\u0631\u064e\u0628\u064e<\/mark><\/strong> <\/strong>\u062e\u064e\u0627\u0650\u0644\u062f\u064c<\/mark><\/strong> <\/strong>\u0632\u064e\u064a\u0652\u062f\u064b\u0627<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>Khaalid<\/mark><\/strong> <\/mark><\/strong>beat<\/mark><\/strong> Zaid<\/mark><\/strong><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The interpretation goes thus:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Doroba<\/strong> (\u0636\u0631\u0628) is the verb: an action word in that sentence which mean to beat<\/strong>. Now, the question is : who beat who ?, who is the person that beats and who is the person been beaten ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the rules stated above that a name that collect rof’u i.e that collects dommah is the faa’il (subject)<\/strong> while the one that collects nasbu i.e that collects fathah is the mof’uulu bihi (object)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, we can say:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Doroba (\u0636\u0631\u0628) – verb<\/li>
  • Khaalid (\u062e\u0627\u0644\u062f) – subject<\/li>
  • Zaid (\u0632\u064a\u062f) – object<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    So it means: Khaleed beat Zaid<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Khaleed is the subject because he is the one that beats while Zaid is the object because he is the one being beaten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Another example are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u0644\u064e\u0637\u064e\u0645\u064e<\/mark><\/strong> <\/strong>\u0632\u064e\u064a\u0652\u062f\u064c<\/mark><\/strong> <\/strong>\u0627\u0644\u0652\u0648\u064e\u0644\u064e\u062f\u064e<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>Zaid<\/mark><\/strong> <\/strong>slap<\/mark><\/strong> the <\/strong>child<\/mark><\/strong><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

    Note<\/strong>: You might be wondering how I deal and interpret those verbs that appeared in the examples above, don’t worry for now,<\/strong> just accept the meaning of those verbs as I have interpreted it for you. You will know more about verb later in this course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
